We recommend that children have their first dental visit by their first birthday or by the time your child’s first tooth comes in between 6-12 months of age.
We get the much needed background know-how after a detailed medical and dental check and tailor preventive oral care advice and plan to suit their individual needs!
Younger children can be frightened of new environments, so we provide this by a lap-lap/ knee-knee check up whilst older and experienced children are happier to jump on the chair for a ride. Our practice environment is designed to have a calming effect on children supported by amazing, friendly support staff and dental assistants
An infant oral examination is simple, easy and effective. We provide this by having the baby/infant lay on your lap and then tip them back for a look. After this, they can happily sit up in your lap for a cuddle!
This one year old/first dental visit gives us the opportunity to start effective and exceptional preventive care that will lay the building blocks of good oral health for life.
Early examination and timely preventive care can help prevent dental and oral disease creating healthier mouths and more smiles in the future
Time: Can be slightly longer than at your general dentist
Approximately 45-60 minutes.
During this consultation, the paediatric dentist will record a complete medical history and clinical oral examination.
